Biggest Loser Fall 2010 Edition

A co-worker of mine has decided to do a Biggest Loser competition for Fall 2010 for whomever is interested (just people in her social circle really), so I figured, why not? I need this! Everyone is putting in $25 and at the end, the 1st place winner gets 75% of the total money contributed, and the 2nd place winner gets 25% of the money. As far as the dollar amount of those prizes, we will know once everyone has signed up. But I'm not doing it for the money. I'm doing it for ME. I need motivation so I might as well grab what I can! It will start Sept. 8 and we weigh in every Wednesday, and it ends Nov. 10. Whoever has the highest percentage of weight lost will win.

I have also signed up for a 5k on September 18th, even though I am not a runner and probably will have to walk most of it. But the fact that I will be doing it is important to me, as I have never ever done anything like that before and have never tried to run before. So far I can do short spurts of running in between walking for a mile. I hope to someday be able to run a full mile without walking.

Another motivation are my blog reviews. I have received some fitness and health-related products for reviews, and it really does motivate me when I have new products to try out. I have sweat-wicking bands that I've found to be amazing for running. I just received a bottle of SlimBody all natural supplements for women that is supposed to elevate my mood and energy. I will be taking those every day now so I can do a review. I also received some Atkins bars, which I will be eating for the review but I won't be doing the Atkins program. At least not at this point. I like carbs too much to do that. But I am keeping track of my food points (according to the Weight Watcher standards, even though I am not a WW member), and I am just including the points for the Atkins bars in my daily points total. SO basically I'm doing a combination of Weight Watchers point-tracking, increasing exercise, and taking SlimBody supplements for now. If I don't start shedding pounds in the next month, I will have to find another avenue. But this is what works for me right now and I hope to stick to a healthy lifestyle so I can lose weight and maybe win the Biggest Loser competition!
